About The Workshop
Discover the magic of wool! Among wool’s many wonderful properties is the ability to create a non-woven, non-knitted fabric: felt. Explore this ancient textile process and experience the allure of turning fiber into felt! This two day workshop explores different animal fibers and the history and basics of both wet and dry felting. We will be looking at the two- and three- dimensional qualities of felt and trying various texture and shaping techniques. Students will use their imagination to create a fabric using these techniques and to embellish with needle-felting and found materials. We will be working with both commercially-prepared wool and wool from my flock of Jacob sheep. Bring patience and imagination! No experience necessary.
All materials and tools for the felting process provided.
Lunch and snack provided.
